Notes on The Standard Addition Method Revisited

At a meeting on April 30, Dan Hurlbut asked what was the use of spikes. I’ve revisited my algebra that I used for his project and have concluded that my reasoning was incorrect. This reasoning was motivated by ease of implementation in rstanarm, which was in turn motivated by difficulties with convergence within JAGS and crashes with STAN.
